Attendees to this this five day workshop receive training on the theory, practice and assembly of an atomic force microscope. It is expected that students of the course have purchased the TT-AFM kit. The courses are held on an as-need basis. The agenda for the course is:

  Monday
Morning – Overview of atomic force microscopes  
Afternoon –Build Ebox, Video Micrscope, Install Software
  Tuesday
Morning – Atomic Force Microscope Design  
Afternoon – Build Stage, Build Scanner, Build Light Lever
  Wednesday
Morning –High Resolution Scanning  
Afternoon – Operate AFM in Vibrating, Non-Vibrating Mode
  Thursday
Morning –AFM Artifacts, Image processing software  
Afternoon – Certify TT-AFM
  Friday
Morning - Finish certification - Pack Instruments  
Afternoon – Open

These courses are located in Southern California; however, if there is a request by several students in another region, a workshop may be held there. Students are responsible for their own travel and lodging arrangements. The AFM Workshop can help with finding budget accommodations.
